Contemporary dance is a dance style that turns away from many of the strict rules of classical ballet, focusing instead on the expression of inner feeling. The structured techniques, and shoes of ballet, are relaxed and create a free style of dancing. Contemporary dancers often dance in bare feet. We offer Contemporary dance to the more experienced artist. Acceptance into this hour class is by appointment only.
This hour class is given once a week from August-May. Contemporary Dance classes are also available for adults. Please see our schedule page for full details, and contact us for an acceptance appointment.
This class does not perform in the End of Year Performance, as it is a technique only based class.
The class uniform is: black leotard, nude tights, hair pulled away from the face. The Dressing Room, housed at Suwanee Academy of the Arts, has all the attire needed for class.
