High School Students
The class will assist the student in not only choosing audition pieces, but also
on the preparation of these pieces. We discuss practical tools which will help
the student in auditions beyond the class. Exploration and discussion of what is
expected of those going into auditions will also be investigated.
The goal at the culmination of the term is for each student to have at least four strong, contrasting monologues, and one or two audition songs. There will also be an opportunity to perform their prepared pieces in Juries held in front of industry professionals. This is a terrific class for the serious artist preparing for college or professional auditions.
This class meets on Tuesdays at 8:30 pm for one hour. It is a wonderful way to prepare for the upcoming musical and is a complement to our Drama classes. Please see our schedule page for full details and the ability to register for any of our classes.
No performances
Dress should be consistent with standard audition attire; clothes that move comfortably on the body and appropriate shoes for the character.
