In the amazing world of theater, anything is possible! Drama students learn to let go of fear as they dive into the playful nature of improvisation and theater games. Every activity is directed toward developing intuition, freeing the actor/actress within.
Stage movement, voice, diction and character development are learned through performance. Drama classes are designed to work with students of all skill levels.
Our youngest actors, 1st – 3rd grade, meet weekly for one hour and 4th grade and up classes meet weekly for one and a half hours from August to May. Please see our schedule page for full details and the ability to register for any of our classes.
This class participates in the End-of-the-Year Performance; a production where students become part of a full length show, presented at a professional theater. From the youngest dancer to the most mature soloist, every cast member works as a part of a team to put on a professional quality show that will excite its audience. Drama classes may be asked to participate in additional rehearsals outside of the regular class times, prior to the performance.
The class uniform is: black SAA tee-shirt, black jazz pants, and black jazz shoes. You may be asked to purchase alternate footwear for the end of the year performance, depending up the character being portrayed. The Dressing Room, housed at Suwanee Academy of the Arts, has all the attire needed for class.
